BUILDING CONSTRUCTION & MATERIALS
BLD 61604
This module is designed to teach students the basics of building construction and the materials used in small to medium-sized projects. It focuses on understanding building elements, including both substructure and superstructure, and covers common materials such as concrete, masonry, timber, metal, and glass. Each material will be examined in terms of its production process, characteristics, and typical uses in construction. To meet the module's goals, students will participate in continuous assessments, including assignments and tutorial exercises.
OBJECTIVES

SELF-REFLECTION
What I feel?
Reflection
Reflecting on my learning in building construction and materials, I gained valuable knowledge that extends beyond theoretical design concepts to practical real-life applications. Understanding the properties and construction details of various materials has equipped me with insights into how these materials perform under different conditions. This practical knowledge is crucial for addressing real-world construction challenges and making informed decisions in building projects.
