ARCHITECTURE DESIGN
STUDIO III
ARC60408
Architectural Design III (ARC 60408) focuses on "experiencing space and place" in architecture. Students explore spatial typologies (e.g., linear, spiral) and the poetics of design while considering neighborhood and community. Initial tasks involve designing simple dwellings, emphasizing tectonics and experience. The main project entails creating a small community building (e.g., gallery, library) in a suburban setting, integrating site spirit, history, and culture. The designs emphasize functional, expressive forms that reflect societal values and cultural context.

To introduce various spatial typologies, focusing on
- spatial organization
- relationships in architecture

To stress the critical role of sections
in designing architectural spaces

Reflection
This module has been a transformative experience, allowing me to explore the creation of poetic spaces that evoke emotion and meaning. I learned how to translate abstract ideas, such as the fluidity and grace of dance poses, into architectural forms and structures. This process deepened my understanding of spatial expression and the interplay between movement, form, and function. By bridging art and architecture, I have gained valuable skills in crafting designs that resonate with both visual and experiential impact.
